Dr. Jon D. Payne has written an excellent article, “Words Matter: Recovering Godly Speech in a Culture of Profanity,” on the rampant use of foul language in our society.
I have also noticed just how pervasive it is throughout our culture, with many of the four-letter words we were punished for using now becoming mainstream in movies, TV, social media, and frankly, everywhere. A Christian’s language needs to be of the highest quality, representing the very speech of God—since we are His children.
